Question:

I have been asked by my Supervisor to get a Covid- 19 Test. Where do I go?

 

Answer:

There are many testing sites in and around Pittsburgh. Many, however, require an appointment. Use the map at the link below to select an area to look for testing near you.

Question:

I recently traveled out of the Commonwealth for vacation. Do I need to quarantine?

Answer:

YES – or receive a negative COVID-19 test as per the Health Department recommendation.

  • The Secretary of Health issued an order requiring anyone who visits from another state to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the commonwealth. 

  • If someone cannot get a test or chooses not to, they must quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Pennsylvania.

  • Pennsylvanians visiting other states are required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their return to the commonwealth, or to quarantine for 14 days upon return to Pennsylvania. This does NOT apply to people who commute to and from another state for work or medical treatment. 

  • This order takes effect at 12:01 a.m. Friday, November 20.

Will I receive compensation if I am asked by NFHCS to quarantine?

 

Answer:

If staff choose to travel during Travel restrictions and/or Work another job and is asked to quarantine. This will not be paid. 

 

Question:

Am I eligible for UC ( Unemployment Compensation) If I’m quarantined due to COVID?

Answer:

Pursuit to the PA Department of Health: If you are currently employed but have been directed by a healthcare provider, medical professional or public official to isolate or quarantine, you may be eligible for UC. Follow the instructions file an initial claim (pa.gov) to file an initial claim.

You may also be eligible for paid sick leave as provided under the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Learn more at the U.S. Department of Labor websiteOpens In A New Window.

Before returning to work, please consult the PA Department of Health guidance on home isolation or quarantine and returning to work after COVID-19 exposure.

You will also need to have a Negative test result prior to returning to NFHCS. After 10 days of quarantine ( Source Covid Alert PA)

Answer:

Yes, this is in progress.

What is Viral Testing?

 

Answer:

Source: CDC : Viral test authorized nucleic acid or antigen detection assays) are recommended to diagnose acute infection. Testing practices should aim for rapid turnaround times (i.e., less than 24 hours) in order to facilitate effective interventions. Testing the same individual more than once in a 24-hour period is not recommended.

Do  I need to wear a mask during the entire service provision?

 

Answer:
